Leach and others, had no political significance, and the following paragraph in regard to it is unauthorized and untrue : "The confer ence lasted two hours and a half. During that time the Democrat gave the President a most cordial personal assurance of their support, and predicted the establishment of an administration party in North Caro lina whicb would soon; effectually rescue the State from Bourbori control. It is now the intention of those whq are leading this movement to begin next5 year at the judi cial election, with an organization to be called the Administration-party, as op posed to the Bourbon Democrats. i ! Mexican Affairs.-' . ' y . New Yokk, Mav 26. A New Orleans dispatch to the Herald Bays : Gen. Lever, an agent of President Lerdo, has just ar rived here from jlatamoras. It is under stood from him that arrangements have been made with the States of Mexico, Sin aloa, Hidalgo, ChipaS, Jalisco, Tabesco and Campeche to pronounce for Lerdo as soon as an attempt is made from this side. This will positively be made, and General Escobedo is in San Antonio engineering the project. It will first be made as a feint on the Northern; Pacific side in Sonoro, but the main attempt wilt be made near Mata moras. The boast was publicly made to day by one of Lerdo's agents here that he would be in possession of the Mexican capital in three months. Efforts have been made here td purchase arms in considerable quantities, both rifles and revolvers are to be shipped to San Antonioand Matamoras. The Presbjr tcrians. : Chicago, May 26.
